Logos have often ranked among my favorite design projects, but their process is probably the most likely to be a bit of an emotional roller coaster. The logo is the foundation for everything that comes after it, so getting it just right can feel weighty for all involved. Sometimes, I become particularly attached to one of the proposed logos and if I can’t sway the client and another is chosen instead, I have to let go of what could have been. But other times, I’m hard-pressed to choose a favorite, and then, I’m glad the decision is not mine to make.
Acorn Health is a family of companies that provides clinical services to children with autism. Logo goals: hopeful, youthful yet professional, family-friendly, gender-neutral. Final logo and three variations from the last phase of the project shown.
Noggin was a network under the Nickelodeon umbrella. These were proposed logos for their online and on-air initiative asking kids to submit useful inventions, thereby earning membership in the Agents of Infinity “club.” The final logo is not shown; I always loved these so much more. They were rejected before the color exploration phase.
The mission of Be the Light is to provide tangible resources that foster opportunities for underserved children and young adults that will help lead to greater economic security. The symbol in the logo represents both the sun and a blooming flower and highlights the action word “be.”
Marketing students in the master’s program at Florida International University proposed Bloom as the name for a line of teas. The pink ‘o’ alludes to the act of blooming—whether a flower or a person—and the stirring of tea. For no discernible reason, I felt this logo needed that period.

Clementine provides residential eating disorder treatment for adolescent girls at its locations around the country. The concept for this logo is obvious but its execution is charming nonetheless.

Creazione Celi means “Celi Creations” in Italian. The small company’s owner is of Italian descent and her last name is Celi. She offers marketing, event, and photo styling services. The logo was inspired by her love of hand-painted tiles.
Proposed and final logos for Jade’s Toy Box, a now-inactive company that curated educational and eco-friendly toys and sold them boxed by themes and concepts for various age groups. The company was named after the owners’ daughter.
Proposed logos for startup company Joon, an all natural skin care and cosmetic line for girls. The brand, whose name is a play on the month of June, is meant to embody the essence of summertime.
For fun: a self-initiated logo for my sweet fun-loving black dog named Vixen. She’s now frolicking over the Rainbow Bridge.
Symbol representing the Year of the Rat for a Tiffany & Co. gold porcelain box, part of a series on the Chinese zodiac that sold in China. The rat was created using circles and circle parts of various sizes.
